Would anyone be interested...
I consider myself an amature artist. When I get particularly emotional, I tend to draw. All the horrors going on in Katrina's aftermath has inspired me to draw a phoenix rising out of ashes and destruction towards a clear sky. And while the drawing is far from finished (it'll be colored eventually), I got the idea that when it is finished I'd sell prints and donate all the profits towards helping the victems of Katrina .

Here's the drawing so far... it's still an unfinished sketch at the moment:

3. Wonderful!!! . . . I think about, and watch, birds frequently lately,
everywhere, for some reason. They're very interesting to watch in flight. I like to think of what the world looks like to them. Birds are wonderful creatures. They also seem intelligent, some of them anyway.

Yes, the Phoenix, a beautiful bird made of energy freed in destruction. May I recommend G.M. Hopkins - The Wind Hover for some thoughts on this too. There is an image there of coals breaking open in a fire "and gash gold verlmillion". You will recognize it when you read it, because John Boy read it on the Waltons a few decades ago.

4. Kicking
I want to see how much interest there is so that I have an idea of how much photo paper I'd need to buy.

5. Prolly seems sentimental but I'd like to see murals that depict Jesus
sitting on roof-tops with the poor citizens of NO surrounded by toxic floodwater, queueing with the ill and old and waiting to be frisked before being allowed into the Superdome, helping to carry the stretcher with the NG officer on it who was shot in the Superdome, holding the hand of the lady who died in her wheelchair, cradling in his arms the babies who died as soon as they were born, holding the hands of children as they all wade through sewage and oil and corpses.

One of the few comforting thoughts is that, if you believe in Jesus, He was with the people in the horrors of the convention centre and the Superdome - in people's little acts of bravery and kindness, as well as supporting and guiding them - and he was NEVER on Airforce 1.

Obviously not a Caucasian Jesus.
