Whoa! This Ex-CIA guy Is Pissed!
I just read this in our local paper. I seem to remember Amb. Wilson talking about him on C-Span the other day. This guy is loaded for bear!

<Snip>

Ray McGovern says there's a 55 percent chance the Bush administration will "plant" weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He insists the leak of a spy's name -- possibly by the White House -- jeopardizes national security. And he says the administration's abuse of power for political gain "just couldn't be worse."

This from the man who conducted daily intelligence briefings with Bush's dad.

McGovern, a retired Soviet-policy analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency, will speak Sunday at New Creation Community Presbyterian Church, delivering a sermon possibly infused with his highly critical view of George W. Bush's White House.

It's a view he claims is shared by many rank-and-file CIA analysts and operatives.

"They are just scandalized beyond description," said McGovern, who worked for seven presidents -- from Kennedy to George Bush - in his 27 years with the CIA. He's now a director of the Servant Leadership School, a Christian education center in Washington, D.C.

:wow:

1. I would be too
If I belonged to an institution that was betrayed by Bushco for personal gain, I would be ticked off too.

Bush and Rove made a huge mistake butting heads with the CIA. they have all the dirt.

3. People are beginning to realize...
...that the Bush Administration's bumbling neo-con policies are downright dangerous.

I subscribe to a political mailing list whose membership is loaded with somewhat open-minded conservatives and I've been astonished how much they despise Bush, mainly about the war in Iraq (no WMD, $87B, no end in sight). Some are truly outraged! If Bush has lost the support of the "aware" conservatives, they will no-doubt influence their knee-jerk conservative friends.

I just hope the Democratic Party doesn't implode somehow and ruin this chance to get rid of Bush.

4. Two words to victory.
There seems to be two words that could bring about a dem victory.

One is AWOL. This term could be used everday by dems to describe the administrations effort on job creation.

Planted. This term could be used everyday to describe the false reports and leaks provided to the press.

Now,everbody knows the intentions of using these words. But this is the game that dems find themselves in and if they want to win, they better wake up and play to win.

5. The rank-and-file want their pound of flesh...
Check this out from the conservative Christian Science Monitor -

Thus the investigation into the matter may now represent the revenge of intelligence analysts who felt the administration hyped the danger posed by Saddam Hussein's regime before the war.

"That is what this is all about - the politicization of intelligence," says Stanley Bedlington, a former senior analyst in the CIA's counterterrorism center.

Many in the CIA remain convinced that the White House distorted intelligence about Saddam Hussein's WMD programs and ties to terrorism prior to the Iraq war. Analysts were stung by charges from administration hard-liners that they were being too timid in their conclusions on this crucial issues.

Now they may be getting their revenge.

"I know there's a lot of anger in the CIA. tried to foist the blame and use the agency as a scapegoat," says Mr. Bedlington.

It's possible this revenge theory may be overblown, however. Former CIA director Stansfield Turner notes that it is relatively routine for the agency to refer possible security breaches to the Justice Department.

"Of course, George Tenet is really under pressure from his own people who they need to be backed up by their director, because they've been under pressure from Cheney and others," says Mr. Turner.
