Is there any way in God's Green Earth that we can stop "Dr. Phil' and CNN
with their "live converage" from Houston. "keep hope alive"?

Good God. I've truly crossed into a "twilight zone". I'm not feeling very hopeful or alive at this moment in time. What does BUSHCO have next in store?

Please reassure me, I must have been dreaming and did not witness the last couple of special moments of the G'damned TV and CNN!

2. Yep. "Keep Hope Alive" was Jesse's. Kinda like Pat Boone singing
"Tutti Fruiti", isn't it?

7. CNN should stick to reporting, instead of packaging the news.
This isn't entertainment.

8. The people who did get out alive are very traumatized. As angry
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 02:44 AM by applegrove
as we all our...they have many more emotions to process. Some may have lost loved ones, they lost their homes, they lost their innocence if they were kids. God knows how they were traumatized. If Dr. Phil, or a duck, can give them something to ease the pain or just stop it for a bit, that fine by me.

They need to sit and talk and talk and talk. They need to do that for more than just days. And they need to feel they are bing heard. And I'm sure it is being piped into all the churches & auditoriums & conference centers and homes that now house the survivors.

9. I will give Phil a bit of credit for this:
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 02:47 AM by SeattleGirl
He was addressing Larry's four hundred and fifty fifth repeat of "Why didn't these people leave?" And Phil said, (paraphrasing) "If you don't have a car, how can you leave? If you don't have money, how can you leave? If you're ill, how can you leave?"

10. So, I turn on Dr. Phil, and get nauseous, so I turn on Geraldo: see cheese
Dr. Phil reporting for Larry King? Like, ewww! So, I turn over on Fox to see Geraldo "rescuing" a woman from her New Orleans home, with this sickening elevator music soaring in the background. He's "rescuing this disabled woman from her home (which has NOT ONE DROP OF WATER anywhere around it -- she must have been in one of the dry neighborhoods); then, he and his crew drive her to a helicopter, and Geraldo himself, along with National Guardsmen, lifts her into the helicopter (the music crecendoes). It was ridiculous. Now, yes, this lady was elderly and couldn't walk well, and, who knows, she may have had no other way out. But her home wasn't in the thick of the flooding -- if he was gonna rescue someone, how about someone on their roof or balcony, with water all around?

What a bunch of CHEESE-O-RAMA. I mean, it was sickening.
