that some of these folks are starting to be able to return to their homes? I get the feeling that a lot of the folks around here would prefer everyone lives in government run shelters?

I just blowing hot air because I'm still upset about some of the people who have argued with me the last few days about all the reasons why these people shouldn't be allowed to return to their homes. I'm just trying to get people to understand that once the storm passes and the water recedes, it should be up to the individual whether or not they want to return or stay at a shelter, not us.

5. Hey DYEW, I agree with you, you know that from the Muddy Waters thread

I'm happy they're being allowed back, however briefly. But once all is settled it's of INCREDIBLE importance that these people, if they wish, are allowed to return permanently...that's their home and it's where their hearts are and where their heritage is.

I MUST say, I'm VERY concerned that these folks are being scattered ALL over the place. Texas and Arkansas are not too far away, but INDIANA and COLORADO. I still can't understand why these people COULDN'T have been sent to different parts of Louisiana, surely Shreveport, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Bossier City etc could have housed this people...at least that would have meant that they were still in their home state and nearer to their relatives.

I fear something sinister is going on, by scattering all over the place, nearly an ENTIRE black population from a VERY blue city.
