12. Alternative strategy: Let Bush appoint whoever he wants and then

wait several decades while the adverse consequences to become apparent and then go to the American people and say, "See! We told you that Bush was a bad guy and shouldn't be trusted. Well, we didn't exactly tell you, and, yes, we did kind of go along with most everything he proposed, but we knew in our hearts he was leading us down the wrong path and you should have known it, too. Will you elect us now?" This seems more likely than the pounce you're hoping for, though I hope hope hope I'm wrong.
