It's time for the Dems to respond.

Up to this morning I took the stand that Chimpy was doing such a wonderful job of self-destructing that the Dems didn't need to give them an opening to say that Dems were politicizing the Katrina tragedy. However, this morning things have changed.

Chimpy and Company have gone into full press mode on politicizing the tragedy.

1. They are attacking all Democrats (and *only* Democrats) involved with the Katrina tragedy. This is such a blatant political move that one hopes that the public, already pissed-off at Chimpy for his incompetence, will see through it. Regardless, this cannot be allowed to stand without response. People need to come to the support of Blanco and Nagin.
   
2. The crack-of-dawn holiday appointment of Roberts to fill Rehnquists SCOTUS position is so blantantly political that it cannot be interpreted in any other way.

Dem talking points should be something like the following:

• Republicans are politicizing this event to distract from their mishandling of the federal role in the tragedy.
  
• People died as Chimpy played golf, played guitar and pandered to his base. People died while Crashcart vacationed. People died while Kindasleezy went shoe shopping. People died while Chertoff and Brown were caught up with indecision.
  
• Call for the immediate firing of Chertoff and Brown for their mishandling of support.
  
• List the litany of grevious FEMA outrages.

1. Another point should be that a lot of folks won't be able to file for

bankruptcy in time. This is due to GOP legislation and corpoarate whorring.
