Celebrities urge 'No' vote on recall....
Celebrities Urge 'No' Vote on Recall

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dozens of Hollywood big-shots took out a full-page ad Friday in the trade newspaper Variety urging Californians to vote "No" on the effort to recall Gov. Gray Davis.

...The high-profile names in the ad include Amy Pascal, chairman of Sony's Columbia Pictures, which distributed the Schwarzenegger films "The 6th Day" and "Last Action Hero"; and Ron Meyer, president and chief operating officer of Vivendi Universal Entertainment, which distributed Schwarzenegger's "End of Days" and "Junior."

Among the actors listed are Richard Dreyfuss, Danny Glover, Barbra Streisand, Larry David, Cybill Shepherd, James Cromwell, Stacy Keach, Rob Reiner and Pierce Brosnan, who appeared with Davis at a bill-signing ceremony on Thursday...

I found this on AOL news, so I'll try to dig up an external link.

The piece also mentioned Arianna had signed it as well.

Well, since the bar is supposed to be that he was a successful actor and that this is why he should be governor...the fact that the people who made money off of him don't endorse him is highly telling :-)

6. Yup...
you said amouthful. It is VERY telling....

Of course, Anrie's film career is pretty much on the rocks -- the lack of success of T3 and his age -- perhaps it was a bit easier for them to speak out.

8. heh!
probably true...but you'd know that more than me :-)

If AHH-nold had never run for governor, I probably wouldn't feel the contempt for him that I do now.

Is she going to make some mention of how she still supports him, even though he is a sexual preditor?

15. How ironic.
A "Predator" will be elected by "Total Recall".....(if you believe the polls)

7. That's what I want...
to see. She offered him a platform to address WOMEN directly -- I want to see her take responibility for peddling a sexual batterer.

3. And just what gives these celebrities the right to run their mouths off?
How are they qualified to be making political judgements? Oh, wait a minute...I forgot who's running for Governor. :P

4. Cool.
That's nice support for a No on the Recall
and takes courage in that community to stand up
to Arnold.
Like to see some interviews on the tube with
some of them.

9. Why not put the ad in a "non trade" paper so everyone can see it??
I mean, like one of the tabloids aimed at the masses rather than "Variety"

12. That would be something...
It is not like collectively they couldn't come up with the cash to run a full page add in every major newspaper in California.
