the situation.
We are satisfied with the current command structure. The Governors of LA, MS, and AL exercised their constitutional right to command and control of NG.

Honore has his people on the same line which is kicking * ass today.

1. The "federalizing" idea is rovian to me
And of course, it only applies to the Democratic govenor in the state with the most devastation and the most evidence of Bush's f up.

His plan was to take over and blame the governor, mayor, etc...

2. It is interesting that Haley Barbour has been saying his state
was the hardest hit yet it doesn't seem bush asked him to hand over control and federalize the effort, I wonder why? If the same request had gone out to Barbour and the Alabama Governor, I suspect we would have heard about it. If they say it did, the request documents showing must be made public, imo. I suspect there are no such documents.

3. I like him.
Sure, he's semi-brainwashed military, but he's from the area, so he's only going to allow so much BS. He's making things happen on the ground there and the people are getting out. His focus is on rescuing -- as he said on 60 min., there would be a time later to focus on the dead but the priority was to save the living.

4. Honore was on CNN this am.
He absolutely refused to play ball with the creep that was hosting the show, I didn't recognize him but he was a creep. He kept asking Honore if he didn't blame the Govenor for not letting the Federal Government take over....Honore was awesome, he refused to go there and just kept talking about what they were doing to take care of the problem.

CNN has done a wonderful job on this so far, except for that creep on this morning.

7. And he finished
by saying "if only we'd been allowed to go in on day one". (not verbatim). They edited that out the second time they showed the interview.
