I don't think that even the Rove machine will be able to counter this failure this time. As for Jakes...? What do you expect. He's the head of a "mega church" he's in the fold...lots of faith-based money. i have watched him on occassion and rather enjoyed some of his messages but mostly they are "sedatives for the masses."
