CANADA: Chretien to start smoking pot soon!!
LOL, just when I thought Canada couldn't get any more liberal... Chretien is ready to smoke some dope when his country decriminalizes the wacky weed. Are we approaching a day, in our lifetimes, where moving to Canada seems like the only sane decision?

http://msnbc.com/news/975443.asp?0cv=CB20

OTTAWA, Oct. 3 — Now Canadians can understand why Prime Minister Jean Chretien seems to be in such a hurry to push through a law decriminalizing marijuana. Chretien, 69, said in an interview published on Friday that he might give pot a try once it is no longer a criminal offense — presumably after he retires in February. Under the new law, pot users would only pay a fine if caught with small amounts.

“I DON’T KNOW what is marijuana,” Chretien said in an interview with the Winnipeg Free Press. “Perhaps I will try it when it will no longer be criminal. I will have my money for my fine and a joint in the other hand.”

I can only imagine the back-room politics involved if he was.

12. "Let's get to the point, let's roll another joint."
"Are we approaching a day, in our lifetimes, where moving to Canada seems like the only sane decision?"

For me, we reached that day when the Supreme Court appointed GW Bush to the presidency.

16. Don't Bogart that 'legality', man.
Good thing Teddy Roosevelt was dissuaded from invading and annexing Canada (and Mexico) back when he had that bright idea.

Of course, if Chretien's squeamish now, he could just hitch a ride with William F. Buckley out to international waters. Guess that's where all the good RW's (except Flush) go to have their fun. :)
