So your position is that the mayor and governor dropped the ball? Well...
... then why didn't Bush pick it up?

Isn't that what "leaders" do?

10. Thanks. I haven't yet heard a repuke answer that one.
Each one I've encountered so far has either shut up and slinked away, or tried to change the subject. :eyes:

3. According to the National Response Plan
that is exactly what is supposed to happen, even if they didn't drop the ball, which they didn't.

4. "Do something, even if it's wrong" is what my parents used to say.
I applaud Nagin and Blanco for making an effort.

I can't applaud W for eating cake. Maybe it's me...

Your post is PERFECT. Thanks.

11. Yeah, the "Bush is a strong decisive leader" crowd...
... doesn't seem to have an answer.

"Uh... FEMA... uh red tape... uh... authorization."

What crap. A leader would have picked up the phone and gotten things done. Bush fake-strummed a guitar and smeared birthday cake on his "good" pants.

9. We've had FOUR FUCKING YEARS since Sept. 11
Don't you think, during some of those times they were flashing those snazzy color-coded alert graphics to take the headlines away from John Kerry, they could have been working on rapid response to urban disasters of this magnitude? A fucking little? We've been told, over and over again, that Osama Bin Saddam Zarqawi (or whoever is the convenient boogeyman) is waiting over our cities with suitcase nuclear weapons and doody, er dirty bombs at the ready.. seemingly just a vote for a Democratic President away.

With that kind of imminent threat, couldn't the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT have put in place a plan to spring into action immediately after a massive disaster, with aid, evacuation, rescue and logistics? If the threat is as bad as we've been told, bad enough to destroy the constitution, bad enough to talk 'bout suspending the elections, bad enough that "everything is different now", then why the flying fuck didn't we have a gold-plated, top notch response AT THE READY when this happened?

Why not? Because we've been lied to, ripped off, hoodwinked, and screwed from here 'til Sunday by these fuckheads, that's why.

13. Exactly......
Even though we know the fault lies with dickhead, the RWers are so big on two things and I'm able to shove it back at them now.

When they say it's the governor's fault, I say, "Then why didn't Bush use COMMON SENSE and do the right thing and fix the mess?!"

(they pride themselves on common sense over we "intellectual elite", right? lol)

And....and I'm truly savoring this one....put a sign on my car and everything.....

What the Bush government did to New Orleans and our fellow citizens was UNPATRIOTIC!!!!
