Are New Orleans Lives Worth Less than New York Lives?

There was a big outcry for government compensation to New Yorker lives after Sept. 11, 2001. Are New Orleans lives worth any less? There should be a fund for their families just the same. Especially since the terrorists in charge of the government and FEMA chopped emergency phone lines, blocked doctors, and stopped trucks full of water.

1. No they are not

any more than some New Yorkers' lives were literally worth more than others. I hope that everyone gets compensated and I hope everyone gets compensated without being subject to the cruel mathematics used to figure out what an individual's loss (i.e., earning power) was worth.

2. Of course they are worth less to our government

The citizens of New Orleans did not elect a Rep mayor or Governor.
Their standard of living is less than that of New Yorkers.

And we get to the main thing---- they are southerners.

poor black lives are most assuredly worth less than affluent white lives . . . at least in the eyes of our government . . .
