1. It's nighttime
maybe it's just because it is difficult to work in the dark?

2. So freakin what?
There are people alive out there that may not be in the morning. Are they saying they should stop because it's too damned HARD?

8. Guess they are going by chimp's bedtime..
This search and rescue is going to take forever if they quit in the evening.
Are they WANTING the mission to be a "recovery mission" instead??

4. Maybe..
I guess it just seemed like a red flag cuz prior to that transmission was:

"You tell them that they have an obligation to get that soldier"

and

"Tell all soldiers to stay where they are"

"keep the Lt where he is"

"Who knows what tomorrow will bring" (followed by a big sigh)

"how many MP's had we sent out?"

7. Uh, yeah, remember the video with nightscope vision
that they used when Jessica L. was rescued??

No wonder FEMA was rounding up the "local" first responders today , trying to take over everything...most likely the locals would want to keep searching 24/7.

18. I thought they had night goggles? they do in Iraq.
this should be a round-the-clock operation with specified shifts for the rescue teams so that fatigue doesn't set in. WTF is going on? Is there a 'leader' out there?

I've been listening to some of the other scanner feeds. Could always use a new one though.

13. There has been lots of talk today
That they aren't doing so much search and rescue anymore. The "recover" word was used quite a bit. The fact that they're calling off the searches for the evening kinda indicates this to be true.

14. I think the worst because FEMA and Homeland are totally in the hands
They had a head on disaster moving towards New Orleans, the city that Holier Than Saints In The Fanatical Church Of Born-Agains despises for its depravity, including the hypocrites who lived it up in NO on visits to the city to check out their depravity.

By their rule book, you figure out how you can take advantage of a natural disaster because there has to be one element of their circle who can benefit.

All reasons for their actions have not been revealed to us yet... however, reducing the population of Blacks and Gays would go along way towards satisfying the religious voting base.

Dark thought? They invented dark thoughts and dark actions. I just borrowed from the way they think.

I even think the incompetence of Brown and Chernoff is calculated. If you have a horse man leading a disaster relief effort and you are really serious about the citizens, you let him pretend he is in charge and you put a capable person in the position or you reassign him. (A la Cheney-Bush.)

I think the worst because FEMA and Homeland are totally in the hands
of the right wing. There is no other way to come at a situation that they are trying to rule - think the worst.

20. Update: Military is holed up in a hotel
under instruction to "not go anywhere til tomorrow"

per someone on scanner who has "looked thru the entire Dome and I cannot find the Colonel you are looking for"

He then said the info about the military in the hotel.
