Chertoff asks for up to 2000 civilian federal employees for FEMA detail

Just got the email. They are still working out the details. Everything from FEMA HQ in DC to temporary duty in LA and MS.

I don't have any specialized skills relevant to the tasks at hand, but I'm former military so I can give and take orders well.

I was down there for a while, and also former military, which helps as far as clearance and what not, plus im still quasi government anyhow.

I went to fema.gov quickly and didnt see a link for helping thats odd, they must have a certain 2K people in mind

5. We are seeing James Lee Witt's influence, I bet, with these e-mails

going out now. I am glad things are really starting to happen.
