GWB is at the old bait and switch again!
Apologies if this is a dupe!

While America is paying attention to the Gulf Coast area, GWB is placing John Roberts at Chief Justice. How is that? I know Clarence Thomas or Antonin Scalia would have been the most likely choice. My thing is how is John Roberts going to leapfrog those well established Justices.

<<snip>>

Moving quickly to fill the vacancy left by Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist's death, President Bush on Monday nominated Judge John Roberts to the nation's top judicial post.

1. I have one question that no one in the media is asking.
Okay, that was pretty funny. Media...asking...what on earth was I thinking? But why isn't the Dems asking on every talk show around about the quality of the nominees that Chimpy has put forth?

I mean, come on, Asscroft? Wolfowitz? Rumsfeld? Bolton? Brown? Rice? And on and on and on. The only thing, besides their innate "neocon-ness," these people have in common is their unique ability NOT to be able to do the job found for them. Why would anyone assume that Chimpy has come up with a "good" Supreme Court nominee? He couldn't find an honest, reasonable, informed, levelheaded, qualified person if his life depended upon it. (Roberts is just another shill that the neocons have been grooming for decades for just this opportunity. I truly believe that. That something was seen in Roberts when he clerked for Rehnquist and he was slowly, quietly positioned for a vacancy on the SP. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing.)

Name me one political appointee in Chimpy's administration that can do a decent job? Chimpy & Co. have a real talent of finding the most unqualified people I have ever seen. Seems the only thing that needs to be listed on a CV for this bunch is how much you have supported the whack job neocons.) Roberts is just the latest. And it will not get better with any other Court nominee so the Dems might as well arm themselves to the teeth and fight like hell. We've seen what unlimited power has brought us.
