To all the people not happy with Clinton hanging with Poopy Bush
on these relief fund drives, including myself....

How would it look if Clinton REFUSED the Chimp's request for him to do it?

Hey, it makes me just as sick as the rest of you seeing Bill alongside that prick, Poppy, in the relief efforts, but goddamnit some of the VISCIOUS things being said about Big Dawg are plain WRONG.

Doncha remember? Bill Clinton was a heroic Democrat who restored pride to the party. He came in after a more than a dismal decade of back-to-back Regan-Poppy Bush years and he kicked Poppy's miserable ass out of a second term! Bill was our hero the way he came out of no where and smacked down that prick of a Bush, Sr. when George thought the second term was his just for the asking.

Under Bill, times were pretty good. Remember?

Let's be a little upset at him for hanging with Poppy, sure, but let's give him a little leeway, too, and remember what he did for us...and be a little grateful. Enough with the nasty lies and adjectives about him.

I'm waiting for someone just like Clinton to rise to the top and surprise us all in 2008. Someone like Clinton who we can all unite behind. Someone like Clinton who can restore our faith in America by knocking the Republicans out of office again, just like he did in 1992.

1. Thanks, but no thanks. One Clinton was one too many.

But, you'll probably get your wish for another moderate Republican president. Hillary is running and the DLC is frothing to get her elected.

Hopefully, the progressives will thwart that plan.

2. They undoubtedly asked Clinton privately if he wanted to do it.
Even though Clinton is a nominal "Democrat" and bush is a neo-con, I think the politicians extend each other the courtesy of asking first and dropping the idea if they get a turn-down. Although it ends up in the press some time later "Clinton turned down opportunity for joint fund drive with bush".... they grease each other's palm (or whatever the expression is).

3. Just my humble opinion, but I happen to agree with you.
I remember the good years under Clinton and long for them. I daresay, none of the disasters that have befallen on Bush's watch would have happened if Clinton was in charge--or Gore, for that matter. Maybe Bill's involvement will pay some positive dividends we can't imagine now. Who knows? Hope springs eternal. Let's hope there's another Clinton in our future. God knows, we need one!

4. I am absolutely
sick of the people who say that it would look bad if Clinton didn't help the Bushes. Jesus effing Christ, doesn't Clinton have enought stature that he and others can mount a campaign on their own? Why are we buying into the mindset that we need to stick with the Bushes? We don't. Actually, we'd be stronger if Clinton had gone off on his own. This effing circle jerk thinking is driving me crazy.

5. You'd rather have him mount a campaign on his own?
And is he supposed to fund the campaign with his own money to pay for the TV commercials?

Ya know what? I'm just happy Bill Clinton is putting himself above that kind of bullshit and just HELPING, period. All I really care about is that those people in New Orleans, Mississippi, and Alabama get the help that's needed. How they get it or who the fuck gets it for them, well I don't really give a shit as long as they GET some relief.

Yeah, let's penalize the victims of the South because we're wondering whether or not Bill should do it with Poppy or on his own. Gimme a break.
