What Bush* "praise" really means....
"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job!" So stated our clueless commander-in-chief in referring to the job done by the figurehead leader of FEMA in the Gulf Coast disaster.
People in the impacted area would tend to (ahem) Disagree!

It's not the first time Bush has lavished praise inappropriately. Remember the medals given to Bremmer and Tenet? Remember that both Rice and Rove have received promotions despite clear evidence of ineptitude on Rice's part and allegations of criminal activity on Rove's part?

Why does he do this?

In Bush world, all honor belongs to Bush and, conversely, all blame belongs to someone else.

He cannot criticize his appointees because that would diminish his glory....and, by extension, if they are praised, then it enhances his glory.

So when he tells "Brownie" that he's doing a "heck of a job" he's really saying ...see how great I am? Behold my Glory!~

He's a sick SOB...

3. There is no accountability among robber barons.
Nobody gets fired unless they show disloyalty. Job performance has nothing to do with getting praised and promoted by Bush.

Tommy Franks got a Freedom Medal (a civilian award???) for leaving 500 tons of HE lying around in Iraq.
