Why National Guard is Important and how Bush* is destroying it |
|
National guardsmen know the local area. They are a part of the state they live in. They know the back roads and the byways and hyways. They know how to get to distressed areas when others do not. Yes each state has the ability to call on other states for assistance in times of disaster but who better to help the locals but other locals. It is not just a matter of having uniformed bodies on the ground, it is a matter of "Local knowledge". That is what is vital in situations such as this one. Now because most states have a good portion of their National Guard and their equipment in Iraq or Afghanistan the states are left vulnerable. People do not wish to join the Guard now for fear they will be sent to some foreign land to fight and possibly die for Bush*'s oil friends and his War Profiteering so enlistment rates have plummeted. Why would someone join the Guard in this day and age? If they want to go fight in a war they would join the Army or Marines. They want to stay and help their neighbors in times of peril but Bush* is destroying that. This is a very serious problem that each state is beginning to recognize but little can be done until the Republicans are ousted from their perches overlooking their destruction of America. They are literally destroying the fabric of society and if people don't wake up soon there will be know society, only anarchy. Why si this simple idea of protecting the states so overlooked by the greedy ones. Maybe because they can't make money off the Guard. I wish we would hear more about this because I believe it is extremely serious and should be addressed if not by Democrats at least by the Media so People can at least understand how much more vulnerable they have become because of these War Profiteers.
