How should I contribute?

I'd like to make a 1/2-paycheck or so donation. Any suggestions which path to take? I'd like to keep the money out of Cheney's hands, would like to make sure all of it gets to the victims. MoveOn? Is DU suggesting any particular charity?

6. I've donated to the Red Cross, which I regret now, and 3 animal

charities, and any further money I donate will go to Pres. Carter and Habitat for Humanity. I trust Pres. Carter to do what's right for the people in the Gulf.

8. My husband's company is matching donations...

We have chosen America's Second Harvest to donate to. I am very skeptical of the Red Cross
after the 9/11 fiasco. Maybe some organization in your area is also matching funds.
