4. Be thankful you haven't heard from Rudy
Rudy's Hero-mode only lasts about 48 hours after a disaster. He's already past his shelf life.

8. Because he doesn't care
Maybe I'm being mean here......I'm sure he does care. He is a "person of influence" and should be adding help where he can.

10. If Rudy wants to run in 08 the best thing he can do now is ...
stay as far away from Bush and the current administration as possible.

13. I am guessing that
1) He knows he only lost a few major buidings in the attack, no major residential areas, and had a finite number of dead.*

2) Nearly all his city infrastructure and support mechanisms were still intact. He also had the support of the remaining metro area of around 11 million + people. New Orleans, Mississippi, and Alabama affected areas have nothing.

3) He knows the mental and physical toll involved in working a disaster the size of NY 9/11 and probably wants non of the experience of Katrina, which requires one hell of a lot more effort.

*I am not trying to imply that 9/11 was any less important or devastating, but in terms of scope of devastation, there is no comparison.

18. Rudy would NOT had been able to handle it... You cannot compare
this to 9/11. Katrina was MAJOR diaster (very wide spead and effected million people homeless and no job) where as, 9/11 was localized and not many people was homeless.

21. He has nothing to add
He wouldn't have a clue what to do if Manhattan was all under standing water.

He wouldn't know how to evacuate the entire city. This is nothing like the 9/11 disaster.

22. Rudy got the smackdown from the WH when his own
hand-picked choice for Homeland Security chief got scuttled (Bernie Kerik), so he's probably secretly enjoying seeing what Chertoff and Brown and experiencing now...

23. Bernie was on Geraldo's show this weekend
I have no idea what he said or why he could possibly be needed in at this time but he was on the phone talking to Geraldo.

25. I think he does not want to be associated with this situation,
he will be forced to criticize the WH - and that will hurt him. He would also be forced to acknowledge that this situation is bigger - in terms of the number of people involved - than 9/11 - and that he might not have been able to handle it.
