Future Justice under Roberts as Chief
One thing that differentiates the current goon squad of the NeoCon rightists is their uncanny ability to - what was that term? "frame" the discussion with a pithy, short and inaccurate statement. They are doing it now - "Now is not the time to point fingers" although this one was hobbled together on short notice and doesn't fly all that well. But historically, they have had superb success with this, whereas too many smart democrats sit around trying to explain away the latest attack. Of course, we lose the PR war, under those circumstances! Let us change the way we approach it. let us win the battle of descriptions. Let us take over this isssue and lead the charge!

We need to approach a Supreme Court led by John Roberts in the same way. We need to describe what he will do to our country in the most simple, most descriptive term possible, and then hammer on it again and again, in every forum, newspaper, LTTE and phone call.

Roberts is known to be an ultra-strict constructionist, even more conservative than the dead man he is replacing. So, let's talk about the strict construction of the constitution.

(please note that I am not trying to offend with the following! )

Negroes (using a much more perjorative term) will be worth 3/5 of a real man again.
Women won't have the vote.
If a democrat is ever elected president, his term is limited to four years (the exact language of Art 2., Sec 1)
Under Art. 1, Sec. 10, all state environmental laws will be gone.
Current Public Safety needs will require suspension of Habius Corpus (Sec. 9)

What term can best describe a truly strict construction of these provisions? What few words could bring back these words to their "original intent" immutable, fixed in concrete, incapable of any interpretation except in their original form and substance? What do we need to repeat over and over, driving home the point of how dangerous Roberts' court will be to our nation?

I have one suggestion - The Pet Rock Theory of Con. Law.

I am also open to suggestions.
