When Chimpy finishes a sentence, or a thought, any sentence, any thought, it doesn't matter...he ALWAYS finishes with a sarcastic countenance which implies everyone else but him is stupid. (Yeah, the irony...) A good example of what I mean might be seen in his proclamation during the first debate with Kerry last year that the war in Iraq was "...hard work...!!". Remember how he finished that thought, leaning forward and straining his face to make people 'understand'?? This is his finishing flourish, and it is soooo irritating. It's like after finishing his thought verbally, he leaves you with a big ol' non-verbal "don't you get it yet, you stupid idiot??" It characterizes his whole demeanour, and yet the MSM never seems bothered...even though it's virtually always THEM to whom he directs this unspoken sarcasm.

:eyes: :puke:

6. I see the same thing
It's the smirk with a weak chuckle at the end. Sort of a 'smirkle'.

2.  This is what he is by his own estimation:

"You know I could run for governor but I'm basically a media creation. I've never done anything. I've worked for my dad. I worked in the oil business. But that's not the kind of profile you have to have to get elected to public office.-GWB

3. I HATE when he does that ...
and when he holds his hand up and kinda pushes it down - to demean people and keep them below him - like he's superior or something :puke:

Everybody hates something about this small little man - I think we could keep adding to this thread and include HUNDREDS of things about him we hate.

"The people of 'merica have got to understand...". No Chimpy, we don't have to understand, since you don't understand shit and are the WORST PRESIDENT EVER!

7. That's only because he's seen it so much from people who are
talking to him that he thinks it's the appropriate expression -- like typing 'Stop' at the end of a sentence on a telegram.

12. I agree and yet when he is out of his element (for instance in a foreign
country) he looks like a frightened rabbit....I saw him in Quebec city with other world leaders a couple of years ago....CBC carried a great deal of live coverage and Georgie, without the filter of editing, looked like a fish out of water with the other leaders...He mostly looked like he didn't know what to do or say....He's a typical bully....Brave as hell ONLY when backed up by his cronies!

It's this stupid little smile/smirk and I HATE IT TOO! It just reinforces his idiocy.

19. Overcompensation.
Chimpy KNOWS he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. So, he uses his position to prove that he's "just as smart as everyone else." Problem is, he carries it past that. Using buzzwords he hasn't the foggiest idea about, belittling people ("Who cares what you think?"), refusing to admit mistakes ("We've got to stay the course!"), and so on and so on.

Of course, the fact that he isn't "just as smart as everyone else" doesn't help matters much.

Please deposit five cents in the cup for my learned psychological analysis. Thank you. :-)

20. Erma Bombeck once said how much she hated arguing ...
... with people who smirk all the time, even when it's a serious matter. It really ticked her off. I used to think she was overreacting, but after looking at *, now I totally get it.

And what's especially irksome is that Bush's minions went on and on about John Kerry, and especially Al Gore, being "condescending". I listen to those two guys, and I hear intelligent, helpful people who are explaining the facts (and assuming that everyone's as capable of understanding the issue as they are).

In Bush's case, he really IS being condescending -- using what knowledge he has in order to belittle people, and whack them over the head until they give way to him. And -- the mark of the ultra-arrogant -- when someone with more information or experience contradicts him (or appears to challenge him in whatever way), he becomes nasty and petulant, rather than gracefully accepting it.

21. Exactly.
And remember the "patrician" shit heaped on Kerry last year...courtesy of Rovian blovulating? The MSM ran with that word and spiked it in the end zone didn't they? Bush, as you said, is the condescending one, condescending and totally detached...from everything.
