He said Brown was in charge of the agency, FEMA, that "botched" the response to Katrina. He'll read some of the best e-mails. (This hour only.)

Dear Mr. Cafferty,

The debacle of New Orleans is not over. Reports out of the LA peninsula are
still horrifying. People have been treated horribly. The President of the
United States who remained on vacation, had photo ops, and made political
speeches during the first days of this nightmare is now again playing politics
by not assuming responsibility for the chaos his casual disregard has caused.
Two things *must* happen now. Another two should happen as soon as is
practical.

1. Michael Brown must be immediately fired as FEMA head before his incompetence
kills more innocent people. Another, more experienced person should be
appointed who should report directly to the chief executive.

2. As soon as Brown's replacement is in place, Chertoff should also be fired.

3. Congress should restore FEMA to a cabinet level department as soon as is practical.

4. An incquiry by the House of Representatives should convene forthwith to
investigate whether there are sufficient grounds for articles of impeachment
against both George W. Bush and Richard Cheney for reckless neglect of the
responsibilities of their offices and gross violations of their oath.

This is not a blame game. It is the ultimate responsibility of the President
of the United States to protect its citizens. The fact that this was not done
is obvious. While New Orleans sank, George played politics. Even now he is
still playing politics with his staged photo ops, blame casting, and outright
refusal to accept the reality of the horrors. It's his job to be responsible
for this. Nobody else's. He must pay the same price as Brown and Chertoff.

Not only should Brown be fired, he should then be brought up on criminal negligence charges and manslaughter. He CONTINUES to hinder rescue efforts and is turning away boatloads of food and water and fuel brought to the area by Walmart as well as charities and private citizens, telling them ‘they’ didn’t need them. He cut off the local emergency communication lines leaving the local authorities unable to communicate. He is either the most incompetent person on earth, or he is conducting some sort of sick genocide experiment

Why are you thinking so small, Jack. Michael Chertoff is the Secretary of Homeland Security and he has proved himself inept at securing the homeland, so Michael Chertoff should definitely resign.

Richard Cheney is the head of the Office for National Preparedness and the nation damned sure was not prepared for this catastrophe, so Richard Cheney should be resigning, too!

And exactly who is the bumbling fool who appointed all of these incompetent boobs to these incredibly important positions that directly affect national security (if you don't think the terrorists are rubbing their hands in glee, I've got a bridge to Nowhere Alaska to sell ya)?

You've got it, Jack, the buck stops with the moron in chief, George W. Bush. He should resign and his resignation should be at the top of the list. Resignations from everybody from him down to the lowliest bureaucrat in FEMA should come forthwith!

in the first place and, whatever his faults, Bush is responsible for his failures.
