Here's the Katrina bottom line even a Repuglican could understand...
How much was the Bush budget cut of The Army Corp of Engineers request to fix and reinforce the NO levee? $20 million? $50 million?

Bush cut it down to $5.7 million. Congress just authorized $10 ...BILLION with a B... for Katrina relief. I heard an estimate on the radio today by an economist stating the Gov't might be paying around $100 Billion when all is said and done.

Now much damage was going to be done by this storm even if the levees were fixed but the thought that maybe $20 to $50 million in repairs might have saved even $50 billion means someone made a bad deal, financially speaking.

Without even taking into consideration all the death and pain caused by that poor decision.

4. trickle-down economics in a nutshell
the cost of tax cuts for the wealthy and military over-spending trickles down to the rest of us.
