BREAKING: DeLay blames NO mayor, La. governor, praises Mississippi/Alabama
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 09:06 PM by Bluebear
Says disaster plans are designed to work "from the bottom up", if the city can't handle it, then they ask for state help. If the state needs help, they must ask for federal help.

The (REPUBLICAN) officials in Alabama and Mississippi handled it much better.

DeLay says "no way" to Senator Clinton's calling for an investigation to what went wrong and intends to stop any such hearings.

per CNN

This is the spin they have been cooking.

BULL!
if the city can't handle it, then they ask for state help. If the state needs help, they must ask for federal help.

And that's exactly what happened -- except that the Feds stiffed both Nagin and Blanco at every turn.

Anyone got an economy-size can of Raid I can spray on that cockroach? :grr:

While saying this, like he was almost begging people to believe this lame story.

They are shook up for once.

16. The report on the statement about Mississippi and Alabama
handling it better was followed by the reporter saying that the reason this was said could be because these two states have Republican governors. Made it very clear that these statements were nothing but a bunch of politics.

28. Jesus jumped up Christ , They did ask for help! How do these
reptiles live with themselves.???

How does anything the mayor or Governor may or may not have done relate to FEMA turning back relief? Or the Feds taking 3 days to get in there???

This is going to backfire on the them. America watched it happen . We know.

Hell, Scarborough is bitching about the lack of help in Mississippi right now! I am sure the mayor and governor had nothing to do with that.

37. That is so incredibly stupid!!!!!!!!!!
When a CAT5 hurricane takes a nearly direct hit on a below sea-level city, you mobilize beforehand, foregoing any protocol because any person with two brain cells connected will know that help will be needed. This, my friends, is called pass the buck, protect the almighty twit leader, whatever. Can he explain why Cheney was buying a mansion during the 5 days that people waited on rooftops?

42. Scarborough was in Biloxi on Thursday calling it a national disgrace
Not New Orleans, but Biloxi.

He trucked in some food with his wife's church group, and they were all astounded by the fact that they were the first relief people that anyone down there had seen. Stores were also looted all over the Mississippi gulf coast, as anyone who was there knows. Will Scarborough stand for Delay's cheap politicizing of this event in contradiction of the facts as he reported them? Will he?
