If FEMA and the Feds just *couldn't* act because they hadn't been "invited" until late in the week...then why were they actively keeping aid out of the city (in particular). What right had they to do that in this fantasy scenario? They "weren't there" according to them.

Stumped the hell out of my colleagues today. When one said: the Governor didn't even ask for help until Thursday!!! I asked how then supplies were turned away by feds on Tuesday. Seriously, it made them stop and think. For some reason, the 500 boats turned away effected them too---its a Texas guy thing. We all believe we'd ride to the rescue. They really, really don't like that the boats were turned away when they hear that!
