LA Protest against Arnold!

I just got home from the protest in Santa Monica against Arnold! :kick: ASS !!!!!


I met and talked with Susan Dey and she's sends her cudos to us to keep up the fight!

(sorry, not trying to hijack the thread or anything - glad the Dems are getting out in the streets over the theft of the Governor's office - ahnold is almost more moronic than little hitler, and if they do succeed in stealing the office, and I think that's a big if, it will only be for as long as it takes for the next recall election to be scheduled)

I'm not good at crowd count. But there were people from all walks of life, chanting and cheering as cars came by and honked. Both sides of the street were lined with protesters. Men, women, children or all races. At one point I was standing in front of Arnie's HQ and I noticed that they had women from Arnie's campagn standing in the door way and I turned to this lady and made note of the "window dressing", she laughed to remarked to her husband about it. She turned out to be Susan Dey. I told her she looked fab-u-los, she put her arm on my shoulder and said "you're fabulous for being here, thank you!".

At one point this car (SUV) with four blond women pulled up with Arnold signs trying to chant at us, several woman and myself started chanting "you-are-stupid", "you-are-stupid"! They're we not amused.

Another point at the door of the HQ, we pointed to the "window dressings" and chanted "SHAME ON YOU! SHAME ON YOU!"!!! One of the women looked VERY nervous and I would think embarrassed. One Arnie woman that was "reporting for duty" starting screaming "GO HOME!" to some of the women from NOW. Guess they called out all the "gals" to come and defend the molester.

I'm pumped!!

7. I was there! I'd guestimate about a thousand people, maybe more...

lining both sides of the street. Very packed in, we kept having to leave a path for pedestrian traffic down the middle of the sidewalk. It got very clogged.

I'd say the crowd was more than half female. It was RIGHT in front of Arnold's headquarters. The people inside looked REALLY bummed out that we were there. And for good reason.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the number of people that showed up, and the amount of signs and banners that were there.

I don't have a digital camera unfortunately or I'd post pics. I have to bring my DV cam in the future so I can at least do frame grabs.

There were lots of good signs and slogans. I'm having trouble remembering them all, I can't possibly do them justice trying to remember them right now.

A huge amount of media was there. I got home in time for the 6:30 national news, and of course the big stories on all three networks were basically about how Arnold is teflon, how these charges are bouncing off him, and how he's pretty much got a lock on things.

The media is FUCKED. From the amount of support at this protest, and the amount of support we had from people driving by, I can't possibly believe that Arnold has that much of a lead.

While walking there I saw a woman, right behind me, who had on a pro-Arnold sticker on her coat. I had to fight the urge to her and say "have you ever had a man stick his tongue in your anus.?" Just to see how she'd like THAT.

The local Fox news affiliate asked to interview me but I declined. Don't exactly trust them.

I just watched Ch 9 and nothing. My partner said he saw coverage on Ch 2 and I saw Ch 4 there.

11. I went to a code pink protest in No. Calif

I am so excited now! Maybe 1/4 of the cars driving past would honk, wave, and give a thumbs up. Not casually, but loud and often with fists raised. What surprised me was the demographics of the supporters. Almost every latino/a who drove by honked, young men, blue collar workers, seniors, women and just a great cross section of Californians. I think Dem turnout will be great. Folks seem passionate about this. :bounce:

29. I was honking on my way home

I had to get home and left our protest around 6:30, I drove past out people and LAID on my horn. I was in the wrong lane to turn left on Santa Monica BLVD so I had to go around the block again, of course I had to drive past the crowd again and give 'em one last toot!

28. He came to Fresno yesterday

actually, it was Clovis, at a private country club (but of course). FYI, Clovis (just east of Fresno) has had it's own KKK chapter for many years. The fine, Christian Clovis residents have known about it for years but it's one of those things that they rarely talk about.

I didn't go as the Fresno Fair is going on right now and we're busy handing out "No on Recall" etc., literature and talking as fast as we can against it to anyone who will listen.
