So did Bush fill FEMA up with freepers?
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 07:27 AM by DoYouEverWonder
Under Clinton, FEMA had gotten their act together. They were responding to disasters like hurricanes and floods in a timely fashion (for the gov) and were able to provide shelter and supplies for these events.

Under Bush, cronies got the top positions. The Head of FEMA has no previous disaster experience and I would assume that a lot of rabid right-wing Bushbots got hired has a result. What you end up with is an agency full of people who hate everyone who is not like themselves. They have no desire to help people. They want them to all die.

Go to FR and CU and read some of the post from Sunday 08/28. The attitude there will make a normal human violently ill.

I've even found one poster that wrote, "Let them all drown".

If you want to see the ugly side of Pauline Christianity, I advise that you bring a barf bag.

1. Quite Likely, DHS isn't much better
I've tried doing business with them and tried getting a job with them. Both experiences left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

3. DHS and FEMA are one and the same
I'm sure most of the Federal Government at this point is full of incompetent freepers.

4. Not necessarily
I know some fine folks. Most of DC is fairly left wing.
I can think of some fine folks at the Department of Health and Human Services, The Department of Education, an the Department Health and Human Services.

I just wasn't too impressed with DHS employee's self-importance when they still have not even proven if they are worth their salt.

5. Most of the folks at these agencies are wonderful people
but they been infiltrated with Bushbots who can do a lot of damage from within and it is hard to stop them. Most people don't think other people can't be that devious but they are. The freeper mentality last week was to 'let them all drown'. When you have a mindset that follows this ideology then what you see is the resulting chaos.

2. FEMA became a dumping ground for mediocrities under Reagan
Campaign payoffs to supporters. This continued under Bush l. Clinton actually staffed FEMA with qualified people, but under Bush 2, it's gone back to cronyism.

Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 08:33 AM by DoYouEverWonder
on Friday after she told Bush where to stick that little piece of paper he wanted her to sign.
