I don't know why I go to freeptard republic. It just makes me mad. Here are the voices of the COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVES as they discuss Oprah's show yesterday. (During the show, Oprah said that the nation owes NOLA an apology for its slow response). Of course the Freeptards got their knickers in a knot about it. Some of the award-winning posts:

I really don't understand these people. :eyes: Oh wait...I forgot, these people don't like their "beautiful minds" molested by the truth or hard-to-look-at images.

These a-holes need to be reminded their Party controls every arm of government, and all the appendent agencies. With that, comes the responsibility to serve, protect, and defend all Americans -- not just the ones who voted for you. Bush failed miserably. His government failed miserably. ...and religious fervor is not based on logic. If they were using reason and logic, they wouldn't be clinging to Bush the way they do.

No amount of failure and betrayal of America by Bush will get these sorts to abandon him because their support is not based on logic. It's a belief--a cherished, narcissistic belief (note it's always me-centrically personalized: "My president," never "the president")--that will never be trumped by anything like mere "facts" and "evidence."

Unfortunately, it seems like these sorts comprise as much as 30% of this country and will always be a tremendous liability to any future genuine greatness this country could be achieving.

I have news for the lurkers. THIS attitude is the opposite of patriotism.

You can not claim to love your country when you wish misery and pain on the people within it.

You can not claim to hate someone like OBL because he desires pain and suffering on America if you yourself desire the same thing.

You want to blame Oprah? For what? She isn't allowed to feel compassion for thousands of people in this country? She can't be angry? She can't talk to the survivors and listen to what they have to say?

Fine. Blame the victim. May you or your loved ones never have to suffer the way these people did. May you never hear people talk this way about you when you are suffering. In time of great need, may you be surrounded by liberals. I wouldn't wish your ugly attitude on anyone, not even on yourself.

I hope and wish, sincerely, that one day each and every repug has to live/rely on government aid. I can only hope that some natural disaster hits their homes and no one comes to their aid (or the aid of those they love), just so that they can feel what it is like to have their lives jeopardized and completely turned upside down.

I can only imagine if they were in the center of this calamady. And it goes without saying that if a Dem was in charge and this mess happened that they would be in such an attack/blaming frenzy that they would be frothing at the mouth.
