Do we lose our focus too easily on DU?

A couple of months ago every post was about the Downing Street Memo, then it was Karl Rove outing Valerie Plame, then Cindy Sheehan, now it's Katrina.

I know this shows just how much is wrong with this administration, but I think we should be making a greater effort to tie all these events together. We need to keep looking at the big picture of how evil and corrupt Bush really is.

1. When DU goes to level 3, it's easy to lose minority threads.

If it's not the hot issue of the day, it's soon forgotten because you can't reach it through the "My Post" and even if you bookmark the page, it's no guarantee that others will.

If the whole world stopped every time a big story happened, then I suppose we could talk about it forever. Just because another big story comes along, doesn't mean the ones we talked about before are now lost....they're just not front page. I would think of it more as an accumlation of evidence.....it gets collected, waved back and forth, and then filed. Ready for easy reference when needed.

5. Fixating on "how evil and corrupt Bush really is" misplaces the focus.

Bush is gone in 3 years. The 25 year old trend towards extremist conservatism isn't going anywhere. We need to be tackling the bigger struggle, not just one man who represents it.

6. I am seeing DU being used as a massive research project

collecting and saving evidence of lethal incompetence at a national level which will be of value for disputing the lies. This is a National Disaster, I am not surprised that it is the focus right now.

7. a lot of shit happens in this admin, hence one of the issues

with having him as president. dsm is just as damaging as plame or katrina or sheehan. all these deserve their place. all these have to be addressed. all these are bush problem. election theft we havent even jumped into

this is why the man and repugs are so bad bad bad for this nation. it is everywhere. deficit.
