commercial I saw yesterday -- young man telling his father that he would train in the United States & only be called when his country needed him.... implying you probably won't be called if you'll enlist in the Reserves... I think if they're going to run around saying that we still have an all-volunteer army & that everyone over there chose to be there, then they should at least have to tell the recruits the damn truth, otherwise how is it truly voluntary... :(

Did people read about the camp in Utah, deep in the woods? Our citizens will be housed in military style barricks, won't be allowed to cook for themselves (fire hazard), and will receive TWO WHOLE MEAL KITS a day! Boy! That's living! In the middle of the woods... I'm sure the urban population of NO will feel right at home!

And can they leave the camp to go to church? NO! If they leave, they can't come back... Wow, can you feel that Christian spirit move you? Perhaps that was just the bile rising in your throat...

40. Here In Northwest LA We Just Had a Job Fair

I live in Shreveport, LA (300 miles east of Dallas). We have two university gyms and a coliseum housing NOLA evacuees. Several of the local and national companies put on a job fair for the evacuees last Tuesday and it turned out to be a success with several of them being offered jobs. I thought that was a good idea from our Chamber of Commerce (I usually detest them because they are anti-worker and pro-business at the expense of the worker's rights).
