I was talking to like-minded folks this afternoon. I mean people who can't stand Bush, have compassion for those less fortunate, believe taxes are an investment not a burden, etc.

And they had no clue what Nagin had tried to do prior to the storm. They were vaguely aware of some of FEMA's fuck ups but clueless about most of them. They knew the federal government screwed up but they didn't know how badly and how horrific it is.

In other words, they would probably read the Rovian Talking Points and not understand the context or the ramifications. Why can't we have a highly skilled powerful political operative --- with a conscience --- working for the Democrats???
