"Squatters" terms being used on CNN |
|
Since when are people on their own property "squatters".
This is BS and how can they justify moving people when they are not in a danger area?
I can understand those swimming around in infested water but many of these people are in areas where there isn't a flood.
I think this is outrageous and smells very "profiteering".

No "rebuilding" project will incluse housing for the poor..The poor have always been the ones who lived in the houses "left behind", and people moved up..That segment of housing has just been eliminated from a city.it will not be "restored".

4. Has the government declared eminent domain????? |
|
If they have federalized the city, no one owns anything in NO any longer.
Funny how the the SCOTUS just expanded the Laws of Eminent Domain not more than a month ago...
Does anyone know if this eminent domain thing has been declared?
(In which case, thet would be "squatters".)

I just read a post here today about a conversation that allegedly took place months ago regarding weather control and a plan to destroy NO.

I wish we had access to REAL information on this. Seems logical that there could be enough airborne bacteria and toxic fumes to warrant such an action. There must be a huge toxic mold and mildew issue as well.

8. Even if there are environmental issues, people living in |
|
the places they've owned or rented all along are not freaking squatters.
Sounds like another Rove Office of Disinformation ploy to me.

9. I agree about them owning their own places |
|
But there are laws almost everywhere that state people cannot inhabit a structure unless there is running water and proper waste/sewage disposal. I've seen people in Los Angeles have their kids taken into child welfare custody because of no working utilities.
More information is clearly needed.

11. Good point, Juniperx. |

Still, calling them "squatters" is a deliberate insult - just more Rovian tricks.
These Repugs are so despicable.
