SpamCop clears bbv.com of bogus spam charge

The following message was sent to our ISP by SpamCop.net:

We have received the below information regarding a report that was sent to your host [e-mail], concerning one of your customers, blackboxvoting.com. As indicated in the information, blackboxvoting.com played no part in the spamming and was simply mentioned as part of an interview article. In our opinion on reviewing this spam, blackboxvoting.com should not be held accountable for someone elses spamming. I have marked the URL as an innocent bystander in our database so no new reports will be generated.

Now it remains to be seen whether our ISP will relent on their "no appeal" rule.

Regardless, I am now setting up multiple "fall back" sites for future "problems".

I don't know why you'd WANT to remain there. It's one thing to have a strict no-spam policy, it's another entirely to be willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater in this way, with no appeal when you're the victim, not the perpetrator.

9. those spam lists are so bogus

they are arbitrary and err on the side of blocking legitimate email

spamcop is very bad about it.

They responded within 4 hours of my email, were very polite and moved quickly to fix the problem.
