The outgoing chairwoman of the Texas Democratic Party endorsed former Gen. Wesley Clark for president Friday.
Molly Beth Malcolm, attending the fall meeting of the Democratic National Committee, said Gen. Clark's military experience has special resonance for her because her stepson is in Iraq.
Gen. Clark "not only understands the problems we have overseas, he has a good economic plan, he understands small business, and he wants to create jobs," Ms. Malcolm said.

Bush's ratings falling.
Bush's support among New Yorkers has dropped since June to the point that he now trails five Democrats whom he previously led in the heavily Democratic state, according to The Quinnipiac University poll released yesterday.
"Is Gen. Clark the real deal or the flavor of the month? In this snapshot, he's a top choice of New York Democrats," said Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
