A question to Californians for after the recall election.

The real story of the recall election is the Greg Palast story of the Enron connection to Arnold S. Let's hope that it gets media play in sunday's and monday's media. I hope so, but I doubt it.

Let's suppose that after the fake BBV election, the recall is effective. What plans do the california dems have for this eventuallity? And what suggestions do you have? Is it possible that californians could NOT know about the enron connection after the recall and therefor not be incensed about the entire fiasco?

Is there any legal recourse possible? Like a class action suit to invalidate the election for reasons of conspiracy? Or maybe another recall due to fraud?

I'm finding it hard to even express my anger and disillusionment of the american system as it has been hijacked by the republican-corporate fascist junta. Can ANYTHING be done about it?

Let's hear what you think can be done. And what if the recall fails? Will the enron connection just fake into the memory hole that all the other stories of wrong doing by the administration have? Will dems demand that the perpetrators of this fraud be punished? I hope so, but the past doesn't give much hope.

1. If a real abuse by Arnold comes to light,

or is perpetrated, after the election (and if Arnold wins), the Democrats always have recourse to the same recall law abused by the GOP -- and would have actual reason to use it. Whether that would be the smart move politically would depend on many things, including whether Arnold had made himself unpopular, the details of the abuse, and so on. Three years is plenty of time to mount another recall campaign, if necessary. And wouldn't it be ironic were Arnold booted from office in such a way?

2. Why do you think the election is going to be stolen?
I hate to break it to you, but Arnold is ahead in all the polls and the recall is expected to pass. Sometimes Republicans do win elections as hard as it is for some people here to understand.

I don't want Arnold to win, but I do resent the BBV accusations that will follow even if Arnold wins comfortably. It will discredit this issue so that when real fraud occurs people won't care or notice.

5. He's gonna get nothing done
The state Senate and Assembly are in Democratic hands. Maybe he'll repeal the vehicle registration fee, but I'd like to see what he'll cut to make up for it.

Anyway, I read that Dems are building up cash for court challenges. With all the absentee ballots and inherent controversy, this matter will NOT be settled this Tuesday (sorry, rest of the country).

6. Gov. Davis is not the best person if we want to make Enron
an issue. He took LOTS of money from them, after all. It really is a quandary because it should be easy to hit Arnold on Enron, but we can't--possibly even when we start the next recall--because Enron had their corporate hooks in politicians on both sides of the aisle when we deregulated.

here you go. BTW, it's easy to find this story instead of pretending I'm spouting bullshit.
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-042902enron.story

On edit: and from SacBee (OK, a conservative paper) from Sept 2, 2002:
Secretary of State Bill Jones reiterated his demand that Davis return Enron campaign donations. Since 1996, Davis has received $119,500 from Enron, including $42,500 since becoming governor. Davis has said he will not return any money, but adds he no longer accepts campaign contributions from energy brokers or generators.
