Anderson devoted his entire show tonight to the "heroes" on the ground there in NO. No politicians, he said -- helicopter pilots, policemen, doctors.

And you know what, Gloria? That boy is still growing, right before our eyes. His compassion, his outrage, his admiration for those risking their lives to help (as he is himself, come to think of it) are written all over his face. I don't think you grow up that way if you don't learn something about it at home. Anderson is one fine man.

with privilege are liberal and decent and still connected to their greater communities because to live any other way would be wrong. And to teach your children to live wrongfull lives is bad.

I was a big fan of the Princess. She was trying to teach her sons to care about others, to empathize, and to share. She took them to homeless shelters. I hope that they retain what she was trying to instill in them.

but I recall the time he was on one of the celebrity Jeopardy episodes, and despite his alignment, he appeared to be a remarkably astute man. Glad he has finally stopped drinking the Koolaid.

17. She did have Anderson in the church Christmas pageant...

along with his brother (who, afflicted by chronic depression, took his own life as a young man). My kids, though younger, were in the same pageants. I think she and Anderson are close. She would not have been the most traditional of mothers, but it could be, given her childhood, that she determined to "be there" for her own children.
