Where would a Moslem Robert Novak be RIGHT NOW?
Edited on Sat Oct-04-03 11:36 AM by ByeDick

If Robert Novak was Moslem, where would he be spending his time today?

Would John Faschcroft be holding press conferences to tell us how much safer we are because they found a nice place for him to stay?

What does your answer say about Bush's America?

2. Gitmo
of course.
I was watching CNN reporting on the muslims trying to get information about Gitmo out to the public. Of course they are portraying them as "terrorist sympathizers", however I wonder of they aren't simply fighting facism.

3. Novak didn't commit a crime
Edited on Sat Oct-04-03 11:50 AM by Bombtrack
he was investigating about Wilson for a story and he reported his uncovered facts, not knowing that any of them would hurt Wilson's wife.

It was the leaker who performed ill will towards Mrs Wilson, not Novak.

Sorry, but everybody here is forgetting that Novak is still the most respectable conservative pundit there is, and the mainstream besmirching him is only going to result in getting replaced with a partisan hack, ala everyone at fox.

This story is just feuling the mistrust that could be the only thing to stop Bush from being reelected.

People here should be honest. It's worth one woman being outed nationally(considering her occupation was an open secret in Washington) if it hurts the administration enough.

5. WRONG!!!! He knew exactly what he was doing under the cover of
journalism. He is a WH shill and he was doing their bidding by outing Wilson's wife. No amount of spin you give can save him from the reality of what he did. It was to send a message to administration dissenters and anyone else who crosses this administration. Novak may not have realized the colateral damage he was doing...but he certainly intended to harm the Wilsons. And he should serve time for doing it!

8. It is the hypocrisy
I think don't think that ByeDick was saying that Novak should necessarily go to jail. Instead, he or she was criticizing the hypocrisy of the current administration. If Novak were a Moslem, Ashcroft might not worry about little niceties such as whether or not Novak actually broke the law before arresting him.

While I do not think Novak should be arrested, I do think he is scum. I read the original article that Novak wrote and there was no need to mention Wilson's wife. The fact that he mentioned her indicates that his motives were less than pure. Novak also has proven himself more than willing to serve as a tool for Republican vindictiveness. Indeed, I believe that Rove was fired from Daddy Bush's campaign because he leaked damaging information about another person to Novak. Before excusing Novak's behavior, you also consider that other reporters were given the same information but refused to run with it. Apparently, they were able to figure out that exposing a CIA operative was not a good idea. Novak should have came to the same conclusion.

Not surprisingly, several CIA employees have gone on record criticizing the administration for its actions. You may want to check ABC's web site for a transcript of last night's "NightLine." Several CIA employees appeared on the show. They explained the potential dangers of the "senior administration officials'" actions. Not only did they have effectively end Plame's career but also endangered the lives of her assets as well as the innocent foreign nationals who had contact with her. This case may even make it harder to recruit assets in the future thus hurting the "War on Terrorism."

Although I want to see Bush gone, I am not happy that the administration decided to out this woman. I believe that we could easily defeat Bush even without Plame because Bush's record (poor economy, Iraq mess) speaks for itself.

6. To answer your question
If Novak were a Muslim he would be preparing for his military tribunal in some military prison as I type this.

Don
