I Told Off a Freeper Today
Some young guy was on the train this morning, & he was saying the usual "Why didn't they get out?" crap about the NO residents. I told him that since they were poor, it was probably difficult to get out. You know what he said? "Then they should get a job" in a snotty voice. I was at my stop, so I said "Stupid Republican" & left.

I am not someone who usually gets into it with people like that. I am actually pretty shy around people. But I am so angry about this whole situation that I let the guy have it.

5. What about the lazy old people in the nursing homes?
What was their problem?

And the people in the hospitals -- were they LOCKED in? Why didn't they get out when they were told?

6. I Get Mad Too
Every time I read LTTE in Central Florida all snotty about how we did fine during Charley, we had our supplies, we didn't loot, we didn't whine for the federal government. This is why the government recommneds you have supplies for 3 - 5 days. Blah, blah.

Frickin' idiots! Some of those people in NOLA may have had supplies, including water, but fat lot of good it did them when their house filled with water so quickly. Some of them couldn't even get shoes on; it was all they could do to get themselves and family members to the roof, much less drag their supplies.

I think every one who scorns the working poor should be forced to work and live on minimum wage for a month. Or, at the very least, they should have to do a paper household budget based on minimum wage. But of course, they think the people can't get better paying jobs because they are lazy. Frickin idiots.
