New Diaspora has Unintended Consequences for Republicans / Bush
The new diaspora, the dispersion of New Orleans residents throughout the US, will have unintended consequences for the Republicans and Bush. It means this story will have legs they can't imagine as people are spread out for months and years. Ordinary people who might only get the party line fed to them by Fox/Faux will get a dose of reality as they come to understand what others have experienced. Not all will listen and some will take it as the 2005 version of "welfare bums", but more people will listen and comprehend than Rove would ever like.

6. The Republicans have incurred the curs of Marie Laveau, Voodoo Queen
of New Orleans. Her grave, near the Superdome, is a sacred place for pilgrims who come from all over the world. They leave cash, candles, foot, jewelrey...none of which is stolen.

Greave of Marie Laveau (Sacred Space)

Now BushCo, through their negligence, has incurred her wrath. I've not heard a story about the status of her grave (a sure curse for the news media) but it can't be good.

The Hex is going in just one way in the direction of the Republicans.

12. Here's a big key:

(Emphasis is mine.)

It is certain that Marie Leveau was a feared and respected figure. Though apparantly adept with charms and potions of all kinds, Marie's real power came from her extensive network of spies and informants. The New Orleans elite had the habit of carelessly detailing their most confidential affairs to their slaves and servants who then reported to Marie out of respect and fear. As a result, Marie had an almost magical knowledge of the workings of political and social power in New Orleans.

So, the spirit of Marie may well work via the political landscape, revealing secrets, finding out hidden truths.

Go Marie Go.

5. Your right they won't disappear
Nor their scars from the experience. These are real people and they will gain credibility by reassertion of the truth. Not only that but there are children and others who will grow to be successful and respected members of the community who will assure the public that the atrocity of not receiving food and water was real. Any President who was the slightest man would have personally dropped supplies from his own helicopter if necessary.

10. But the Other Side of the Coin
LIMBOsevic was saying that the people being relocated out of LA are 90% Dem constituents, that LANDRIEU just barely saved her seat and with Dem voters being moved out, LA will go Repuke.

15. Watch out for how they "red line" these people for voting purposes.
I am sure they are watching that very closely. Jesse Jackson and the Black Caucus had better be planning on how to address the issues of residency for voting purposes. A lot of these people will be disenfranchised. And I am sure that after what just happend to them, they will want to vote somewhere!

18. I hope you're right and think it may be so
Looking at the distribution of the evacuee's, it seems they're being shipped to solidly "red" states where their vote will make no difference or to "blue" states that were a lost cause. Factor in that FEMA has been screwing up or changing their mind on where to ship the evacuee's shows they are incompetent or can't choose which decision provides the best political advantage. For christ sake's, these decisions affected the lives of citizens. I truly hope that their choices generate unintended consequences. I haven't seen anything in the last two weeks from MSM that didn't question the reality of the administration and the "boots on the ground" people. If the lock down of the evacuee camps can be overcome, and the stories of these citizens be told, the current administration is toast. Their is no justification for treating disaster evacuees as possible enemies of the state.
It's late, I'm tired, and I hurt more than I can express.

Stay Strong and be well all

Poor tired old drunk

19. You speak true words
They survivors that have been placed in my community are talking to anyone who will listen. They are heartbroken and frustrated souls speaking the truth.

The children in school were told not to question the new students about what they'd been through. So, of course that was the first thing they did. The stories they've brought home to share with their parents who are sharing them with their neighbors and co-workers. The truth is spreading like a grass fire in August through the Texas Hill Country.
