Please try to take snap shots of the backs of cars where Bush stickers were scraped off.

The oval and the W-04 stickers have a recognizable shape. The one I saw had only remnants of adhesive, but I could tell what it was.

Maybe someone in Admin can make a folder to hold them all if there are a lot out there.

I have seen only one, but it's a great sign!

It would be nice to have a couple hundred of them to email over to Ken Mehlman, don't you think?

Also, I have been reading a lot of testimonials from converted freepers. Maybe there can be a thread for that too.

We should welcome them all because although they may have been harsh in the past, they are human beings and are entitled to be respected for making the great leap to our side.

Keep fighting the good fight!

8. are they oval like the international stickers or rectangle like every
other sticker or maybe they are square. Are you really going to accuse people of something because of the scraped of sticker they have. Maybe they bought the car used!

2. I dunno
Campaign season is long over, stickers gotta come off sometime. It's not necessarily an indication of disenchantment.

22. I've still got my Kerry/Edwards yard sign up
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 09:33 PM by 5thGenDemocrat
Hard-wired into my cyclone (wire-mesh) fence with a second piece of wire-mesh fence. The red is, like, completely burned out, but the K/E is still way readable. My next door neighbor, Tom the Republican, pointedly refrains from commenting to me about it -- but he thinks I'm some sort of Bolshevik, anyhow.
I intend to leave it there until I replace it with my "Clark 2008" sign three years from now (and maybe after that -- it's a big fence).

Pissing off Republicans in general since 1956, and Tom in particular since November 15, 1994.

Sometimes I still see Gore 2000 stickers around, because down here in FL, we still haven't gotten over that.

4. I'd love to see pictures of those gummy ovals where they couldn't
get rid of all the adhesive.

I'm in a blue, blue area, so I probably won't get the chance to see many here, but I know they are out there!

7. Being scraped off does not necessarily mean they are now anti-W.
It could simply mean that they don't like old bumper stickers on their cars. Do you still have a Kerry yard sign up? Win or lose, I always take my bumper stickers off my car after an election.

12. There's thousands of "W" stickers on cars in metro Atlanta
One would swear that the giggling murderer was still running for something. I've been looking stickers coming off. There's also those little black square ones that say "W" "the President".

14. a buddy of mine is in town from NM
he and i were driving around town, and this same convo came up about *stickers. He says he still sees them in Albuquerque often, and was suprised there were so few here. I noticed none today, and usually see one or so. But have not been driving as much in the last week or two. I mentioned the story posted earlier today by (? , i've forgotten now) about neighbor scraping off his, and we both actively looked for them. He said he'd check out his town when he returns.

Made a short trip to state capitol yesterday, and saw one on the whole roadtrip. Normally see dozens in that area.

Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 09:13 PM by CrackpotAmerica
I used to see them all the time. . . We all know how some diehards like to rub it in. .

But now, I see little if any at all.

That's when I noticed the scraped off one.

If you know anything about sociology, I think you would agree.

Something's going on here, I would love to write about it. . .

On edit: Thanks for sharing!

11. I live in red state OK
most of the Bush stickers around here didn't go on until a few months prior to the election and the majority came off immediately following the election. Evidence of a scraped off bumper sticker doesn't mean squat.

Maybe I am overly sensitive to it because of all that has been going on.

Kind of when like when you buy a car, you start noticing that other people have cars just like yours.

Anyway, I could tell 2 things from the one I saw.

1. It was freshly scraped off (the adhesive was pristine and white, with unworn flakes.)

2. I could tell that it was a W sticker because the ascender of the "W" on the maintained its clarity in the adhesive.

Maybe I am crazy, if so, sorry to waste your time. , ,

17. I've seen other posts about the exact same thing
so you're not the only one noticing it. I see too many of those W stickers around still and will start looking for evidence of them having been scraped off. I understand what people are saying about them being removed after an election, but there are a lot of people who keep them on or just have the "W the president" stickers in order to say they support him, so I think if we see a lot of them looking gummy and recently removed then it's definitely a sign of changing public opinion!

21. I have been desperately looking...
none so far. However, I did see today a big Ford truck that had a bumper sticker that said "Proud Christian Democrat" and "A village in Texas is missing its idiot". I wanted to shake that man's hand.
