I was listening to Laura Ingraham on the way home just now
Her guest was Bill Krystal. They were discussing Katrina and the response. Ingraham and Krystal said that FEMA and the Federal response had to be looked into and was too slow in coming, but the local governments were more to blame. Krystal said the response has been great, it just could have been a few days earlier. And they also were concerned that the way the whole politics and appearance were handled badly by the administration. In other words, they just looked worse than their actions should have made them look.

Well, here's the point. The callers were furious with them. Even when they agreed that they can still be good republicans and be critical. Some even agreed that the response could have been faster. Yet, they were all still angry.

It's like they can't bear to hear anything else but the script, Bush/Republicans good, Liberals bad all the time. If the message veers even the slightest, and this was ever so slightly off, what they are used to hearing, they freak out.

Just thought it was interesting.

3. I guess I am just not that tough in the stomach department...
I struggle mightily to listen to the opposition. I turn the sound down when they have Bu$H on the news, his very voice sickens me. So you are a brave soul in your ability to listen to Laura...she is a piece of work. Thanks for the post, and the news that there indeed some cracks in the wall they have built up against the great unwashed.

8. So anyone who gets cancer deserves it?
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 10:03 PM by Heddi
Please tell that to my aunt, who has Ovarian Cancer

Please tell that to my aunt's dead husband who died of leukemia

Please tell that to the little boy I babysat as a child who has leukemia

Please tell that to the millions of americans who are diagnosed with cancer and who die of cancer or cancer-related illnesses every year.

Please tell that to the hundreds of cancer patients I worked with for several years who volunteered their time, tissue, and blood for cancer research.

Please tell that to the 28 year old woman who had to have both breasts removed because of breast cancer AND have a complete hysterectomy at the age of 26 because of cervical and uterine cancer.

I'm sure they'll be surprised to know that their disease and (possibly) terminal state is due to being an unworthy person

:puke:

Go spread that fucking filth on Fred Phelps website. That is one of the most disgusting fucking comments I've ever read on this website.

As much as your comments sicken me, I do hope that no-one you love gets cancer, or any other terminal disease. If they do (heaven forbid)< I hope you can look them straight in the eye and tell them that they MUST have deserved it for some reason or another.

15. Once again, did you miss the KARMA part?
And if your dear friends voted for the administration that has gutted environmental, food, and drug protections, then perhaps the polluted water and water, treated meat, and automobile emissions may have had the teensiest bit to do with their diseases.

And don't forget, BushCo has pretty much destroyed medical research in the United States so again, maybe their votes, their parents' votes, had something to do with it.

It's quite possible that your dear friends are the innocent victims of those who DO vote for BushCo policies. Most people are.

Some people actually get the pain they earn. It ain't enough, but it's a start.

And how dare you assume you are the only one who has ever lost anyone to disease?

9. The callers likely have their snouts well into the federal treasury!
Rove may even have an entire staff at the ready to call in and address any criticism of his Bush-wonder.
