Why Didn't Dan Rather Cover Katrina?
Okay, we know Dan no longer is the anchor for the CBS Evening News, but I thought he still covers stories for CBS. Why in the hell didn't they send Dan out to cover Katrina? I mean, this is what Dan does & does well I might add. Why sit him out on this? Doesn't make sense IMO. Any thoughts?

4. ReallY?
News to me. Just because he doesn't do the CBS evening News does not mean he's fired. He is still employed by CBS last time I checked. He was doing stories for 60 Minutes II til they dropped that. No reason I can think of why Dan couldn't cover the hurricane.

3. who needs him
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 11:08 PM by xray s
he's the guy who spiked the Niger uranium story and ran instead with the Bush TANG papers story that Kevin Drum figured out smelled like a rat six months earlier.

I hope Rather is enjoying his pampered retirement.

5. Oh how quickly we turn on someone
for perceived transgressions. Not too long ago everyone was in love with Dan Rather, as he was the only news anchor who was telling any truth - and he really was the only one. How dare he retire and be in comfort.
