Poll question: Has Shrubco secured their base with talking points and distractions?
Is roughly half the country uneasily clutching their talking points like a teddy bear or security blanket, safely back in the fold?

Why did they stay. Looters. School buses. Local and state officials.

1. I went with "other"...
His fundie nutcase faction was never going to leave no matter what he said (negative or positive), but the moderates/fence-sitters are more unclear.

2. After all this time, I am still not sure totally what their base is
Racist white men from Promise Keepers who worship flags and AM radio?

Self loathing Pentecostal white women who see themselves as walking uteruses that can cook and vacuum?

Greedy laissez faire board members whose job it is to grease palms?

3. I guess I mean the people who voted for them, and it includes different

4. Presented that way, NO ...
He has (finally) lost much of the "center." His actual base will be unphased by recent events ... but, the center seems to be opening their eyes.

5. Not according to the polls
Pew and Zogby both showed, for the first time, erosion of Bush support among conservatives.
