3. Yes. I'm glad he stayed; he'll provide a voice for what happened,
not the spin.

artcle yesterday about the wealthy of NO planning on rebuilding a city without the "riff-raff". To see if he's heard of this.

14. I love this man! Nat. Guard belongs here!
My son just left Tuesday morning for basic training in Georgia. He is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in April.

Please say this to every Repug you talk to today. The National Guard should not be on Foreign Soil!

Help me keep my son here.

27. From some of his comments, I don't think he is a liberal
I saw him more as an old school, pragmatic Republican.

20. Doug Is Doing An Incredible Job
I strongly suggest someone cap this segment...this man is telling it as it is...and Mr. Fascist Friday is all but silent.

He says there's blame to be given to the City of New Orleans and State of Louisana, but those errors were only amplified to catastrohpic levels by the ham-handed actions of the Federal.

Yep, he called mr. boooosh a coward for not coming down and said that TR Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Raygun would have "gone into the belly of the beast" but mr. boooosh's handlers were afraid he'd be heckled by blacks.

This is important since Brinkley, while Clinton's "biographer", has also been a water boy for booosh. You can see the disgust in his voice as to how inept this regime's handling of this issue is and how it will have a long and lasting impact.

Brinkley also made a big issue about mr. boooosh running to San Diego while New Orleans was flooding. That "Pet Goat" moment seems to have turned on a light of lights in a lot of former booosh enablers. They can see this guy is shallow and choked. He's hired incompetents and has only added to his own problems.

I know people here are flying all over the place to take hides...but we're still witnessing mr. booosh and his henchmen starting to twist in the wind. The spin isn't working, the mess is clearly on their hands and the lack of accountability in light of the disaster is one they can't lie or spin away. Too many Americans now know this regime won't make them safe and only looks out for it's own ass. Many feel they're on their own.

21. Two Points...
He did a biography on Jimmy Carter and wrote about Kerry's war record....

He seems like a mainstream liberal Democrat who said some nice things about Bush's handling of 9-11.....

24. A Caller Jumped On That
Points taken...thank-you.

I'd call Brinkley more a "moderate" or almost DLC type Democrat, if you put a label on him.

I've heard him on many occasions attempt to justify a spin for the booosh regime.

Brian Lamb usually brings on his friends (like the umpteenth time he's had the former Raygun staffer who runs the Lincoln Museum) and the fact he just opened up and let Brinkley go this morning was even usual for him.

25. More
I think most mainstream historians were dispassionate about Bush until he invaded Iraq... I think most historians see it as a mistake and believe that the verdict of history will confirm it....

I also think historians have the advantage of looking at how leaders respond to cataclysmic events and see how Bush has come up short on this one.....

As for the DLC I'd rather live the rest of my life under their governance than one more day under the governance of the Bush administration...

26. This Legacy Will Vindicate Us
I'm proud to be one of the "10%ers"...one of the lonely few in those days following 9/11 that saw through this regime and didn't see "unity" but a well-orchestrated game that led to a nearly 3-year free pass for this regime to act with impunity.

Historians can't help but now rate this regime on it's negatives rather than its positives and, inversely, will grade Clinton far higher as the prosperity and peace of the 90s will stand out as a "guilded age" compared to the war, economic and social strife we've seen in this decade and under this regime.

Many of us are so used to the spinning and ass-covering from the "journalists", but those aren't this historians. They haven't yet lifted a pen to chronicle this regime, but I assure you there's going to be a lot written and it's going to be viewed as a regressive time in this country's history.

My hopes are that whenever there's a dark time like this, it's followed by a decade of enlightenment and rejuvenation.

Cheers...
