Gen. Honore, tell the soldiers to stop with the guns!

According to the news, the soldiers with guns drawn are going house to house , sticking guns in front doors and windows.


Someone needs to convince my Brothers and Sisters to leave NO and be safe.

Why are they sending young White soldiers, with GUNS, to make them leave their houses and their city?

I know there are many Whites that are refusing to leave as well. I know that is the case.

But, I bet you they ain't gonna shoot one white person, not one.

Where are the compassionate White soldiers and Black soldiers, without guns?

I thought Gen. Honore was telling the soldiers to put their guns down!

I wouldn't leave either if I thought GWB was telling White soldiers to talk me out of my city.

Don't flame me please, I just know that many more lives will be lost, African American lives, if the shooting starts.

This administration has NO SHAME and can not be trusted.

African Americans are short on TRUST now and LONG on suspicion.

2. I read that

Gen. Honere's soldiers (active army) would not be involved in any forced evacuations.

On msnbc they said some local NO law enforcement were not removing people that had supplies and that they felt were safe.

I hope that they don't force people to leave their homes.

And the image of this is horrifying. We need some trusted and inspirational leaders down there to help convince people to get out (with their pets too dammit!). I am so worried about the overexposure to contaminated water- these people are going to get sick and more of them will die. There has been enough of that. I also put myself in that situation and considering how the people who DID leave were treated I can empathize totally with these people.

Why do people have to leave, if all the contractors, and underpaid labor get to stay, why can't the residents? This is just outrageous. If people do not want to leave their property, let them stay.
