I've seen a lot of posts here that ask the equivalent of How can that man sleep at night after lying like that?

Well, you don't understand Scotty or his position.

His position is designated to keep the White House talking points out front in the media and not to let the press control the White House agenda. He does that every day.

When he leaves the podium after planting the appropriate talking points and dodging, obfuscating, or refusing to answer specific questions, he walks off very content that he has done a professional job for the White House.

He is completely focused on that job.

He doesn't see bodies floating in the water in NO as anything but a PR issue that has to be shoehorned into his talking points or deflected in some way or another.

If, at any time, he becomes emotional or loses his cool in any way shape or form, then he has failed. If, at any time, he lets his personal feelings (if he indeed has any left)come to the fore, he has failed.

On this level, that's what a professional does. It's disgusting but it's true.
