1. Media needs to keep eyes on FEMA
FEMA, as ran by this inept administration and the imbecile Michael Brown, have demonstrated they are not ot be trusted.

Media need to keep laser-like focus on what FEMA may be doing in NOLA.

4. BBC news this morning
interviewed a lady who lived near the morgue site outside Baton Rouge. She said the trucks kept coming, night and day. Semi trucks full of bodies, 50-60 per day.

8. The reason why this is an exaggeration
50 - 60 bodies a day would fit in a single semi truck, at the most two. So the statement "trucks coming night and day...full of bodies" holds no credibility. If we are going to make claims, we have to make sure they are legitimate or they will be ripped apart.

9. I saw Christiane Amanpour do a piece on cnn.com...
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 11:46 AM by spuddonna
Have no idea if she's staying...

Her piece should be up on cnn.com - she covered a town that is acting as the morgue. FEMA basically told the mayor they were going to use his town, and he really had no say in it. He wasn't complaining, but was very factual about it.

They showed a warehouse being setup to house the bodies, where supposedly pictures, dna samples were to be taken. She said that FEMA will be releasing the bodies after they were done with identification processes back to the state of LA, so they were urging people not to go to this little town...

I'll see if I can find the link...

ETA: Here's the page http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2005/katrina/
Under the section Locations, there's a link to a video called 'Town's makeshift morgue'. The name of the town is St. Gabriel.
