6. I'm very angry today too!

First of all, I was walking our dog, and a viscious dog around the corner was not penned in cause the people didn't shut their gate, so the big black dog came rushing out and attacked my dog! I was so scared, I didn't know what to do! A guy working on constructing a new house came running over to get the dogs seperated, and got the dog back in it's yard. I was so scared and angry! The woman came out of her house, and just stood there! She didn't even come over to secure her gate to keep the dog in!

Then, I get home, and still had CNN on, and had to see chimpie and that awful woman, Karen Hughes! That capped my day! Fuck! Every day chimpie makes this country worse and worse! I don't konw why I even watch the news, I should just say FUCK THEM ALL! And not pay attention, like so many people I know.. it just makes me so depressed! This country is on it's way down, and we can't do a fucking thing about it *sigh*

I've been angry for months. I've been hurting for weeks. I've been overwhelmed with grief for my country for days. But I read a couple of things yesterday that gave me the strength I needed to step back, look around and breathe. They mean something to me, maybe not to others.

I hate that people are hurting and dying and dead; I hate that the Misadministration is going to try to use that pain for their own gain... but we know they're going to try to hurt people so we can stop them because they're SO. FUCKING. TRANSPARENT. We know how they're going to jump. The MSM has come around, and the becalmed outrage that has held so many of us for so long is picking up a breeze. Victory is there for us for the taking. We just have to grab it and not let go.

There's a light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't a train. It's still a long walk to daylight, but we can get there, one step at a time. We're coming through the stormfront, through the fog, whatever weather metaphor you like.

This is the first time I've believed we can really take them down if we want it bad enough and if we pull those we elected hard enough.

But it seemed to be coming to a head for me today. I looked at a lot of really gruesome pictures of Katrina victims last night, and I watched students at my school just going along like everything was normal, and I became so much angrier than usual.

For most people, New Orleans and Mississippi are a world away. Very few have been outside their own state and most are happy to leave it that way - unless they go to the beach or Disney for a week and neither place is out in the real world anyway.

My neighbor is a perfect example - he's 44 and never been anywhere outside the Pittsburgh area except for Myrtle Beach. He went to Chicago for his first business trip last fall and was appalled by the number of Mexicans working there. I won't repeat his comments.

It wasn't surprising when he told me that most of the blacks in NO stayed behind to loot the city. I felt like hitting him with the lawnmower.

Knowing he's a good "christian" and a bush supporter only makes it worse.
