5. 9/11, again!!!

as soon as I got to work today, the guy who sits next to me asked if I saw Bush's speech and how he was talking about 9/11. Part of that may be due to the anniversary of 9/11 coming up but mostly I think Bush still believes it was the terrorist talk that got him elected (I don't believe he really was elected but many do) last year.

Anyway, I explained to my friend that the terrorist argument doesn't work anymore. Because the main issue of that argument is the fact that this administration will keep us safe. After what we've seen in NO recently, we now know that's not true!! If he keeps trying to sell that, it's going to bomb just like the pic on AF1 (after Katrina) bombed!!

Btw......just in case you were wondering, my friend hates Bush as much as I do.

in the aftermath of Katrina, I keep thinking, "two disasters and both times, blivet** was disengaged, out of the loop". Also, given the piss-poor response of the federal government to Katrina, are we really supposed to feel that Homeland Security has made us safer? Has your opinion of how your city would fare in the aftermath of a terrorist attack risen or fallen in the past two weeks?
